Crock Pot; So Easy, So Tasty!

The ingredients that go on a po-boy are virtually limitless: tender thin cut hot roast beef with gravy, ham and cheese (known in New Orleans as a "combination"), fried seafood (oysters, shrimp, softshell crabs, catfish), grilled patties of Creole hot sausage with cheese, meatballs--even French fries. When the New Orleans po-boy is "dressed," the reference has nothing to do with fashion: "dressed" in New Orleans means that lettuce, tomatoes, mayonnaise ("mynez"), and dill pickles are added.

The true test was to come though, work and its renowned canteens. How was I going to be able to combat the breakfast ritual of Fry Up, Tea and Toast! This was a sterner test of my commitment, consulting the book, I devised a breakfast feast, combining Fruit and Yoghurt. Comparing prices of my usual breakfast 'high' energy diet with my new 'high' energy diet, I was surprised to see a considerable reduction. The myth of healthy foods being more expensive, appeared to have been dismissed at the first attempt.

Mildred's Restaurant and Tea House is known for its tea service, whether it be for a church group or a group of young girls looking for a "royal" experience. Mildred's tea service includes tea and finger foods that are typical at an old-fashioned tea time. In fact, when you visit the restaurant, you will see an eclectic mix of teapots and tea sets from all over. Her marinated beef joint slow cooker, prime rib, and chicken strips are also a big hit at her catered events.

It is really amazingly simple to prepare all of the old family specialties ranging from Barbecue beef sandwiches, Slow Cooker beef stew or even that timeless slow cooker pulled pork. One can find hundreds of simple crock pot dishes to try. You'll be able to be as innovative as you want. If you're entertaining guests you can get a much more innovative with mouth-watering selections such as Warm Blue Crab Bruschetta or Wild Mushroom Stew. To preserve more of the nutritional value of your vegetables don't cook them for too long. As you cook a vegetable, its nutrient content diminishes. Mix apples with sugar, nutmeg and cinnamon. Line a pie dish with thin-rolled crust. Fill with the apples. Dot the apples with butter. Moisten edge of the crust with water, then place top crust on. Press edges how long to roast beef with a fork. Also perforate to let steam escape. Bake 350 degrees for 1 hour.

So now that I've made you nice and hungry for our famous Chicago-Style Italian Beef sandwich let me give you my version that I cook at home for my family. It's tasty and delicious and I hope you will enjoy it as much as we do.
